International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM15)

The International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15), is the new global standard for Phytosanitary Measures in respect of Wooden Packaging. ISPM15 was implemented in 2002, in order to end the worldwide trade impediments due to a maze of import restrictions for wooden packaging. Among other things, ISPM15 instructs that wooden packaging must be treated to prevent the spread of vermin (including chus xylophilus and sirex woodwasps).
