Terminal Handling Charges or Container Service Charges (THC or CSC) are costs for the handling of containers at the container terminal. These costs are applicable for containers being loaded on board of a vessel as well as for containers being discharged. The costs vary per port and per country and are charged by the shipping company. The THC includes the loading or unloading of the container on or from a truck, stacking and transport to or from the crane. The agreed incoterm clarifies which party has to pay the THC.
